Audio Convert is an all purpose audio and MP3 converter that handles a variety of formats.  It will encode and decode MP3 as well as extract audio from a CD which it does quite quickly.  Encoding is done with the LAME MP3 encoder and offers bitrates from 8-320 kbps.

The program is fairly easy to use and laid out well.  CDDB lookup will automatically name CD tracks if found in the online database, saving you the trouble of manually naming each one.  Extra features include audio editing tools that will help you clip silence off tracks, equalize, normalize, mix and more.

Since its release, Audio Convert has done a good job at improving the speed of its conversions.  Overall, it is a worthwhile program to try.
