Function: Ripping, Encoding, Decoding, Burning
Rip,Edit,Burn is a handy tool for those who interested not only in CD ripping and burning, but editing WAVE files as well. Therefore, this product is especially suited to those who want to convert LP and cassette to MP3 or CD audio.
The name of the program aptly describes its primary functions. REB includes both a digital and analog CD ripper for recording CD audio to your hard drive. The program will encode to MP3 with the Windows ACM encoder, but it is preferable to download the latest LAME encoder and install the lame_enc.dll to your Windows system folder so REB will include the LAME encoder as an option in the interface when you rip. BlazeAudio provides detailed instructions on how to do this.
The bottom line: the program is best suited for those who need a wave editing option included in the software (the majority of what you are paying for) and those who want a package that handles almost everything. One major feature that would really round out the program is the ability to burn MP3 CDs. However, BlazeAudio is committed to improving and expanding their product so you can be assured that they will continue to update and revise the software over time. The free trial is good for 30 days.
